An SPF (Sender Policy Framework) Record helps mail servers distinguish between real mail and forged mail being sent from a domain. The recommended SPF record should be formatted as follows:
Record Type |
Host |
TXT Value |
TTL |
TXT (Text) |
@ |
v=spf1 include:_spf.securembox.com ~all |
1 hour, or the default setting for your provider |
We recommend copying and pasting the TXT Value to ensure that all spacing is preserved. This record needs to be added to your DNS zone file. This is the same provider you contacted to update your MX records.
Please note that certain domains may require additional SPF parameters within the record depending on their situation. For example, if a mass-mailing service is used, an "include" record specific to that service should also be added to the domain's SPF record. A proper SPF record will begin with the v=spf1 definition and end with an all mechanism. All include mechanisms should be placed between these and separated by spaces.
